If the announced list of speakers is any indication, it appears as though the Federal Trade Commission has learned at least a little bit from its past efforts.
After shunning the industry during its first Debt Collection Dialogue event in Buffalo in June, the regulatory agency announced that representatives from both DBA International, ACA International, and NARCA as well as a collection agency representative will participate as speakers at the next event, scheduled for Sept. 29 in Dallas.
An unnamed speaker from DBA will join Christopher Koegel, the assistant director of the FTC’s Division of Financial Practices, Gregory Nodler, the CFPB‘s senior counsel for enforcement policy and strategy, Jessica Lesser from the Office of the Texas Attorney General, and Michael Frost, the chief Legal officer and general counsel for CBE Companies.
On the second panel, Robert Foehl, ACA’s general counsel, will speak alongside Koegel, Nodler and Joann Needleman, president of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys and the practice leader at Clark Hill. She is also a member of the CFPB’s Consumer Advisory board.
The topics that each panel will address have not been announced.
