- The city of Las Cruces, New Mexico has opted not to try to collect nearly $3 million in unpaid fines generated by automated red-light enforcement cameras. The cameras have not been used in more than a year, but the city had only collected $36,000 in unpaid fines and was facing legal challenges against the operation so it has decided to shut down its collection efforts.
- Student loan servicer Navient is in the crosshairs of the CFPB and could be facing legal action related to how the company assessed and disclosed late fees.
