If the national government is “confounded” by cyber attacks coming from China, Russia, and Iran, how is private industry supposed to keep up?
During Congressional testimony last week, the director of national intelligence said the government lacked “both the substance and the mind-set of deterrence.”
The government is ratcheting up the rhetoric, however, and appears serious about getting more cooperation from other governments to help crack down on these threats. For President Obama, “finding a way to deter computer attacks is one of the most urgent and confounding problems he faces in his last 16 months in office.”
