- EOS CCA, a collection agency, is closing its office in Denver and laying off 60 employees. The company is consolidating its offices and opted to close its operation in the Mile High City.
- A man had to go to the media to get Verizon Wireless to back down from a $2.1 million cell phone bill that he received for one month of service. The man, who said he had been contacted by two different collection agencies to collect on the bill, ultimately got an apology from the carrier.
- Consumer spending continues to grow, but wages remain relatively flat, according to a report issued this week by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The housing market and auto sales also continue to show signs that they are back to pre-recession levels.
