Even though there are enough smartphones to give one to more than half of Americans, the number of smartphones in the United States will grow by an additional 20% during the next three years, according to data published by Statista.
The number of smartphones in America will top 220 million by 2018, up from 184 million currently.
Collection agencies would be wise to be aware of this trend and to try and capitalize on it by devising ways to get borrowers to use their smartphones to access accounts, make payments, and make promises to pay.
