- The Federal Trade Commission has announced the discussion topics for its third and final “Debt Collection Dialogue” and while incredibly broad, at least it should provide some idea as to what to expect. The first panel discussion will be on the subject of state regulations and debt collection enforcement and the second panel discussion will be on federal regulations and debt collection enforcement.
- Here is a case of anecdotal evidence being used to indicate a nationwide trend. A pair of Florida consumers were taken advantage of by debt collectors – if their stories are true – and the incidents are being used to call for a prohibition against collecting on delinquent debts that are out-of-statute.
