- The Attorney General of Missouri has outlined a plan to combat what he calls aggressive debt collection practices by amending the procedures for filing civil lawsuits. Debt collectors will have to prove their right to collect on a debt, will not be allowed legal “stalling” tactics, and will be going after companies who sue when the five year statute of limitations have expired.

- Healthcare companies are likely targets for hackers in 2016, according to a report published by Experian. Medical records are worth 10 times as much as credit card numbers on the black market, according to the report.
WOMAN SUES WELLS FARGO
- A Florida woman is suing Wells Fargo for aggressively trying to collect on a mortgage note after the woman’s husband passed away. The collections were so aggressive that the woman contemplated suicide, according to the lawsuit.
CFPB HAS ROOM TO IMPROVE
- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau needs to continue working on improving the consumer complaint database, according to a report from the agency’s ombudsman.
