- President Obama used his final State of The Union address to share his vision for the future of higher education. At a time when the delinquency and default rates on student loans continue to rise, the president said that it’s the government’s job to make college more affordable for everyone who earns the opportunity to go. “No hardworking student should be stuck in the red,” Obama said during his address last night.
