CFPB ISSUES SUPERVISORY REPORT
- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau issued its semi-annual supervisory highlights report yesterday, the 10th one it has published. In the report, the bureau details how it has recovered more than $14 million on behalf of a quarter of a million consumers. You can read the full report here.
NOBLE SYSTEMS DETAILS PATENTS OBTAINED IN 2015
- Noble Systems announced in a press release that it obtained 32 new patents in 2015 for its technology. That number is more than 50% higher than the number of patents the company received in 2014. Among the patents the company received were: dialing wireless skip-trace numbers in a contact center, sending callback text messages from a contact center, properly ascertaining shift-related work deficiencies of contact center agents, and using a speech analytics system to control recording contact center calls in various contexts.
ACA RELEASES FCRA EBOOK
- ACA International has released an eBook to help collection agencies looking to remain compliant with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The book is available for $89 for ACA International members and $179 for non-members. According to ACA, the guide “features important information on the relevant regulatory guidance, court decisions, and consumer reporting agency reforms impacting consumer information furnishers.”
MINNESOTA POLITICIAN STILL ANSWERING COLLECTION QUESTIONS
- The Speaker of the Minnesota Legislature found himself answering questions for the second straight day about his payment history and settlements he received on unpaid credit card debts. In one case, the law firm that was doing the collecting — Messerli and Kramer — also had a lobbying operation and there were questions as to whether the speaker, Kurt Daudt, received a better deal because of his job.
