HENSARLING RELEASES DRAFT OF CFPB OVERHAUL BILL
- Rep. Jeb Hensarling [R-Texas], chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, has released a draft of his Financial CHOICE Act, which, among other things, would dramatically overhaul the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and officially bring an end to Operation Choke Point. The bill would alter the leadership structure of the CFPB, turning it into a bi-partisan committee — similar to the Federal Trade Commission or Federal Communications Commission — from a one-person directorship. The bill would also change the name of the CFPB to the Consumer Financial Opportunity Commission.
CT TOWN GIVES UP ON TRYING TO COLLECT $100K IN UNPAID TAXES
