SEN. WARREN CALLS FOR GAO REVIEW OF TRUMP’S TRANSITION
- Sen. Elizabeth Warren [D-Mass.], one of the individuals most responsible for the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and a strong advocate for consumer rights, has submitted a letter to the General Accountability Office, urging a review of President-elect Donald Trump’s transition process. Conflicts involving Trump’s possible business interests, combined with reports that the transition is in “disarray” and has been “chaotic” led to Warren, along with Rep. Elijah Cummings [D-Md.] to request the review from the GAO.
CFPB SHOULD NOT BE SENT TO ‘SLAUGHTER’: REPORT
- A column has been making the rounds among newspapers across the country over the Thanksgiving holiday. Written by a financial planner who publishes on the website, NerdWallet, it is a “plea not to send the watchdog to slaughter,” and listing all the reasons why the CFPB should be defended under the incoming Trump administration.
