- The Veterans Administration does not appear to be the most efficient debt collector. “Agency failures or haphazard application of standards directly harming veterans’ finances” are causing problems nationwide for veterans, according to testimony supplied by the American Legion. Last year, for example, the VA sent almost 187,000 notices of overpayment.

NURSES TO BUY UP, PAY OFF $2.6 MILLION IN UNPAID MEDICAL DEBTS
- Nurses in Minnesota have raised $28,000, which will be used to buy up $2.6 million in unpaid medical debts of 1,800 fellow Minnesotans. The money was raised and the debts are being paid off to celebrate the one year anniversary of a strike by 4,000 nurses last year. The gesture is meant to show support for the communities that supported the nurses during their strike.
