BK FILINGS INCREASE IN AUGUST FROM JULY
- Bankruptcy filings increased 11% in August compared with a month earlier, according to data from the American Bankruptcy Institute. Business filings were 13% higher while consumer filings were up 11% on a month-over-month basis. On a year-over-year basis, the number of total filings was essentially flat.
