COLLECTION AGENCY OWNER GETS FOUR YEARS IN PRISON FOR STEALING FROM CLIENTS
- The owner of three medical debt collection agencies has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for embezzling $800,000 from her clients. Rebecca Pargeon owned Pargeon Medical Services, Kids First Pediatric Billing and Surgical Billing Solutions, which were all based in Springfield, Missouri. She pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud and filing a false tax return for not reporting the income she stole from her clients.
AR TECH STARTUP RAISES $5 MILLION TO HELP AUTOMATE COLLECTIONS
- YayPay, a financial technology startup that allows companies to automate the accounts receivable process, has raised $5.3 million in funding. The company’s platform has helped process 150,000 invoices and collect more than $100 million since its launch in January. The technology has helped companies decrease their Days Sales Outstanding by 25%, the company claims.
