GETTING TO KNOW CHRIS BECRAFT OF REVSOLVE

  • Chris Becraft has spent nearly his entire life in the collections business, even if there was a large chunk of time where he dreamed of playing music before huge crowds instead of trying to get them to answer their phones. Becraft is a recognized leader in the industry and it’s an honor that he takes seriously. Read on to learn more about Becraft, the advice that he cites as the reason why his company continues to grow, and his unabiding love for socks.

JUDGES HAVE DAY IN COURT AFTER BEING ACCUSED OF OPERATING DEBTOR’S PRISON

  • Judges in New Orleans have adopted new practices and procedures following a lawsuit alleging that they used the legal system like a modern-day debtor’s prison. The judges have promised a federal court judge that they have altered certain practices, like issuing arrest warrants for individuals who did not pay their fines, without first determining whether those individuals could pay the fines in the first place. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit are asking the court to rule that the procedures are unconstitutional.

CONSUMER GROUP ISSUES REPORT ANALYZING COMPLAINTS FROM SENIORS FILED WITH CFPB

  • Debt collections have a prominent role in a report issued by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group detailing the predatory financial activities foisted upon senior citizens. The report analyzed 72,000 complaints filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from individuals over the age of 62 to reach the conclusion that “mistreatment of older consumers by financial companies is widespread.”

PENNSYLVANIA AG FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST NAVIENT

  • The attorney general of Pennsylvania has filed a lawsuit against Navient Corp., alleging misdeeds during the origination and servicing of student loans. The lawsuit alleges that the company violated the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law and federal Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010.

WORTH NOTING: The fires in California could still get a lot worse before they get better … A family-owned pub in England has been named the best restaurant in the world … The price of orange juice is going to go up … The Boy Scouts will now let girls join their ranks … The mayor of Kansas City bought 1,000 products from Amazon and reviewed them all in an attempt to get the company to open its second headquarters there … Toyota is now developing different commercials targeted at different ethnic groups … Here are 10 things that likable people never do … Two dozen entrepreneurs share the lessons they learned from their worst bosses … How much you take home if you make $75,000 in different parts of the country … Pro sports teams are no longer fans of Trump hotels.

Why you need to stop worrying about your work-life balance

This is mean and funny at the same time
