United Collection Bureau Inc., a collection agency based in Toledo, Ohio, has announced plans to renovate a 55,000-square foot building in Jeffersonville, Ind., into a call center and hire an additional 600 workers.
New employees will begin working at the facility in late May. The company plans to take up to four years to reach the 600-employee mark at the new office. About 300 workers will be hired by the end of 2018, according to a published report.
The company says it is spending $2.4 million on the expansion.
UCB’s website says the company was founded in 1959 and collects government, healthcare, utilities, student loans, telecom, and financial services debts. Here is a video from the company’s website talking about it’s healthcare collection and revenue cycle management operation.
Indiana officials are providing UCB with $3.5 million in performance-based tax credits and $150,000 in training grants to help offset the costs of the expansion.
Along with its Ohio headquarters, UCB also has operations in Florida and Costa Rica.
