The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Friday announced two promotions and three new hires, mostly in the communications and external affairs departments.
Laura Fiene, who has been with the CFPB since it opened in 2011 was promoted to West Region Director. Fiene has spent the past 31 years regulating financial services companies, according to the CFPB.
Also promoted was Delicia Reynolds Hand, who will be the CFPB’s new Deputy Associate Director of External Affairs. Reynolds Hand has worked at the CFPB since 2012 and has 17 years of industry experience. She had spent the last seven months of 2018 as the acting deputy associate director. Prior to that, she was the assistant director for advisory boards and councils at the CFPB.
Lora McCray was hired to be the new Director for the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion. She was most recently an assistant vice president of diversity and inclusion at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
Marisol Garibay has been named the CFPB’s acting Chief Communications Officer. Before joining the CFPB, Garibay was the acting Communications Director at the Office of Management & Budget, which is where CFPB Director Kathleen Kraninger worked at before confirmed last year. Garibay has also worked at the Treasury Department and the House Financial Services Committee.
Finally, Andrew Duke has been hired as the new Policy Associate Director for External Affairs. Prior to joining the CFPB, Duke was chief of staff for Rep. Jeb Hensarling [R-Texas], who recently retired from Congress and was the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.
