- ACA International on Friday night broke the story that a settlement had been reached in the case of Crunch San Diego v. Marks, which will keep the case from being considered by the Supreme Court.
JUDGE GRANTS SUMMARY JUDGMENT IN FAVOR OF DEFENSE IN FDCPA COLLECTION FEE CASE
- A District Court judge in Illinois has granted summary judgment in favor of a defendant that was sued for allegedly violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by trying to collect an unpaid debt as well as a collection fee that was assessed by the client. The judge denied a motion from the defendant for the plaintiff to cover its attorney’s fees.

- Receivable Solutions Inc. will be closing its office in St. Louis, Missouri, and laying off all 50 employees who worked there, the company said in a notification filed with the Missouri Division of Workforce Development.
