Simon’s Employees Collect Supplies for the Center and Serve a Meal this Saturday
Simon’s Helped the Samaritan Center Secure a $5,000 Donation Used to Purchase 2 New Ranges
The Spirit of Giving is Routed in the Season of Thanksgiving
Simon’s Agency, Inc. will be hosting its third annual Volunteer Day at the Samaritan Center located at 215 N. State Street in Syracuse, NY on Saturday, Nov. 9. Simon’s donates the cost of serving a meal to Samaritan Center visitors and volunteers spend the morning and early afternoon preparing and serving the meal. Throughout the fall, Simon’s also collects items for the center which it then hands out to those in need. This year, Simon’s was also able to help the center secure a $5,000 donation through a private foundation through one of its employees which the center used to purchase and install two new ranges for the kitchen.
Simon’s Agency employees are proud to be a small part of the continuing daily mission of the Samaritan Center and truly values the time it spends with center volunteers and its visitors through its mission as an “expression of humanity, kindness, dignity, self-respect, generosity and desire to help those less fortunate.” Simon’s Agency continually mirrors this approach with the patients and consumers it works with on a daily basis.
After Simon’s first Volunteer Day in 2017, employee, Shannon Goins summarized the experience best, “Spending every day feeding the hungry and serving big slices of humble pie to folks like myself… Samaritan Center, YOU are the real hero.”
