Spire Recovery Solutions is honoring fallen Special Operations personnel with a charitable contribution to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Through this foundation, surviving children of fallen warriors, as well as children of all Medal of Honor recipients, are afforded the opportunity of post-secondary education and other types of financial assistance for their educational endeavors. As a military veteran and father, this cause hits close to the heart of Spire Recovery Services’ President, Joseph Torriere.

Families often struggle financially after the sudden loss of a parent. Especially when the loss is a direct result of the sacrifices made while serving our country, I think we owe it to these fallen heroes to help look after their families. We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute toward providing a brighter financial and educational future for the families served by the foundation,” says Mr. Torriere.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation began with a battlefield promise in 1980 when 8 Special Operations forces were tragically lost in a heroic mission to rescue 52 American hostages in Iran. The promise was to ensure financial support for the education of the 17 surviving American children. On this foundation, a legacy began and endures today due to the dedication of the foundation and its members.
The foundation is focused and determined in providing this financial care for families and has seen nearly 400 students obtain their college degrees. There are approximately 900 students in the program, ranging from infants to high school students. The foundation has been recognized as a Four-Star Charity (out of 4 stars) by Charity Navigator for 15 consecutive years.
Joseph Torriere and his brother, co-founders of Spire Recovery Solutions, are both military veterans. After exiting from the military, they entered the accounts receivables management industry and eventually began their own business. Today, they’re thankful for the privilege to support nonprofit organizations for veterans and their families, as they have seen firsthand where such support is needed and are grateful for the sacrifices made.

About Special Operations Warrior Foundation
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1980. SOWF assists survivors of fallen and severely wounded Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps Special Operations personnel in two primary ways: 1) Ensure full financial assistance for post-secondary education from an accredited two or four-year college, university, technical or trade school, as well as educational counseling, preschool grants, and tutoring to the surviving children of Special Operations personnel who lose their lives in the line-of-duty and, 2) Provide immediate financial grants to severely combat-wounded and hospitalized Special Operations personnel and their families.
