JUDGE DISMISSES FDCPA CLASS-ACITON FOR LACK OF STANDING

A District Court judge in New Jersey has dismissed a plaintiff’s Fair Debt Collection Practices Act class-action lawsuit over the contents of a letter responding to a debt verification request on the grounds the plaintiff lacked standing to sue, never getting to the merits of a motion to dismiss that was filed by the defendants.

BILLS INTRODUCED IN CONGRESS TO EXPAND FCRA TO INCLUDE MORE TYPES OF BILLS ON CREDIT REPORTS
