Debt buyer Spring Oaks Capital Corp. has announced plans to expand and will open a second corporate office in Albuquerque, with plans to hire 200 employees to work there.
Spring Oaks is based in Chesapeake, Va. It began looking for a place to open a second office and ultimately chose Albuquerque, notifying the Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance via a Zoom call by wearing hats featuring the mascot for the University of New Mexico. Astute members of the industry who check out the jobs board on AccountsRecovery may have noticed in recent weeks that the company has been posting jobs for the Albuquerque office, including a Compliance Manager, Infrastructure Security Engineer, Operations Manager, and Educator.
The overall economic impact to the city is expected to be $34 million during the first three years that Spring Oaks operates in the city.
“After a national search for our second office facility, we couldn’t be more excited to call Albuquerque our new home,” said Tim Stapleford, the president and chief executive of Spring Oaks Capital. “We were instantly impressed with the sense of community and partnership we experienced from everyone we met. The rapid growth of Spring Oaks Capital has been based on our commitment to providing high quality jobs and a collaborative, supportive work environment for our employees, and we look forward to becoming a part of the growing, vibrant Albuquerque business community.”
Albuquerque is the largest city in New Mexico, with a population of just under 1 million residents. The city claims to live under blue skies and sunshine 310 days of the year.
