If you had to ask Trey Hall which was a more important accomplishment — coaching his high school team to a state football championship or starting a digital-first collection operation when the agency he was working for abruptly closed down — he might not be able to give you an answer. And as someone who doesn’t shy away from the tough conversations, that is probably saying something. Read on to learn more about Trey, what he likes most about working early in the morning, and how football helped kickstart his career in the ARM industry.

How did you get your start in the industry?
I was coaching a child of a former agency owner. He hired me out of education to run his sales efforts. An abrupt decision to close his agency left me wondering what to do: Go back to the classroom, find another sales job, or start my own agency. So, in 2015, we decided to start a digital-first collection agency.
What is your career highlight so far?
We won a state football title in 2009 in a smaller classification. I am also very happy with the automated digital efforts we have rolled out at Eleos.
When or how are you most productive?
MORNING! I like to get up before the rest of my family and work uninterrupted.
Which industry professional do you admire most?
Ashraf Ali, with Maxyfi. He is about as genuine and helpful as any I have met.
What is one thing you do better than everyone else?
My wife would probably say speaking my mind lol. I usually do not shy away from conversations that need to be had or things that need to be discussed.
What do you like most about this industry?
I love the desire by all I have come in contact with to help others. Whether that is your clients, the consumers we work with, our teams, or even our colleagues in the industry. I see an industry with a heart to make things better!!
What is one thing you wish you could change about this industry?
The negative stigmatism surrounding debt collection.
If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing?
I probably would be a full-time football coach.
Describe a typical work day.
Up at 5am to do devotions with my wife, then off to workouts at 6am with my football team. Then, I take our two little kids to school each morning at 7:45am, before heading to the office. I take care of all important tasks until about noon. Afternoons are usually full of meetings and appointments.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Staying up late watching football
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Pray as if it depends on God, and work as if it depends on you

What is one fact you’d like everyone in the industry to know about you?
I have four kids — two biological (ages 23 and 21) and two who are adopted (ages 7 and 5)
