Mountain View, CA, March 14, 2025 – Prodigal today announced the Prodigal Intelligence Engine (PIE), a specialized intelligence layer designed to power AI agents in collections and consumer finance.

Building foundations for Agentic AI in consumer finance

Recent advancements have led many industries to rapidly adopt AI agents; consumer finance and collections are no exception. However, most existing solutions merely offer human-like voice interactions without the critical industry-specific intelligence required for truly effective decision-making and meaningful automation.

“Today’s AI agents in collections lack true industry-specific intelligence – they sound human but miss critical context,” said Shantanu Gangal, CEO of Prodigal. PIE bridges this intelligence gap by unifying previously siloed systems – including CRMs, Lending Management Systems, dialers, email, and text – into a unified data store. It identifies hidden trends and leverages external insights, enabling agents to deliver intelligent, compliant, and personalized interactions that significantly improve consumer engagement and outcomes.

Empowering companies to create AI Agents that are truly theirs

PIE not only empowers companies to build truly intelligent agentic systems but also allows these AI agents to authentically represent the company’s unique identity. Unlike traditional agents limited to superficial customization, PIE enabled agents deeply understand a company’s internal business logic, regulations, product offerings, ideal customer profiles, and consumer behavior – delivering truly personalized and compliant automation.

Moving towards an agentic future

Prodigal’s vision extends beyond individual AI agents. With PIE and the recent launch of its omnichannel AI agent ProAgent, Prodigal is taking initial steps toward an agentic future—one where complex workflows traditionally requiring extensive human involvement are automated through intelligent systems. Ultimately, Prodigal envisions an “agentic workforce”—teams of specialized AI agents collaboratively managing entire collections operations autonomously.

While the realization of this comprehensive agentic workforce is further down the road, PIE’s launch represents a significant leap forward, laying the robust foundation necessary for Prodigal to fulfill this ambitious vision.

About Prodigal
Prodigal is the leading GenAI provider for the consumer finance industry.  Their suite of applications powered by their proprietary insights’ engine improves revenue, operations, and compliance for lenders, collection agencies, and debt buyers.
