The company that manages e-OSCAR last week sent out an email, urging data furnishers to review their records and address potential inaccuracies in their credit reporting.
The glitch, which occurred during the nightly batch process on June 13, 2025, resulted in certain Automated Credit Dispute Verification (ACDV) Response records not being transmitted to one of the credit reporting agencies. The affected records were instead coded as “Did Not Respond” (DNR) by the credit reporting agency, according to an Aug. 8 email alert sent to e-OSCAR users by the company.
The incident was triggered by an unplanned Microsoft-based outage that disrupted connectivity between e-OSCAR’s system and database. Two batch processing pods unexpectedly shut down, halting the generation of the ACDV Response file. When the process restarted, it failed to complete the partially generated file, leaving out a portion of the records intended for the credit bureau in question.
Although the system’s outbound reconciliation check confirmed a file had been created and sent, it did not detect the missing records. Impacted furnishers have since begun receiving Dispute Response Notifications referencing the DNR-coded items.
In coordination with the credit bureau, e-OSCAR sent an ad-hoc batch file containing the missing responses on August 4. The company also implemented enhanced reporting and validation processes to prevent similar oversights.
Impacted furnishers should:
- Review Dispute Response Notifications for affected records.
- Access the “ACDV Data – TransUnion 6/13/2025” report (available to Insights by e-OSCAR subscribers until Aug. 25).
- Consider reinsertion requests for impacted tradelines, following the special process outlined in e-OSCAR’s notification.
Furnishers can also request an Excel file listing affected control numbers directly from e-OSCAR. Reinsertions will require confirmation that original responses remain accurate, or the submission of an Automated Universal Dataform (AUD) if account details have changed.
