Inbox Health, a patient billing and communications platform, announced it has raised $20 million in growth equity, bringing its total funding to $55 million. The round was led by Ten Coves Capital, with participation from CT Innovations, Commerce Ventures, Fairview Capital, I2BF, Healthy Ventures, and Vertical Venture Partners.
The company, which serves more than 3,500 healthcare practices and 2.8 million patients annually, says it will use the funding to expand its AI research and development. The goal is to strengthen automation in billing and patient support, while improving both efficiency and empathy in how billing questions are resolved.
“Our focus is on designing the experience patients want during the billing process,” said Blake Walker, CEO of Inbox Health. “This growth capital allows us to study the countless interactions between patients and AI agents, optimizing for both emotional intelligence and efficiency to resolve issues faster. The market is ready for a transformation that reduces unpaid bills and makes the entire process feel more like a partnership and less like a burden for patients.”
AI-powered collections support: Inbox Health offers billing teams an automated solution that provides patients with clear explanations of their charges and multiple payment options, including credit card, digital wallet, ACH, phone, and check. The platform also delivers AI-powered support through calls, chat, and email, and is available in 60 languages. According to the company, healthcare practices using Inbox Health have seen collection speeds improve by 60% within the first 60 days.
Growth and partnerships: The company has grown significantly in recent years, reporting a 230% increase in revenue and an 85% growth in patient population over the past three years. In August, CHE Behavioral Health Services deployed Inbox Health across its multi-state network, integrating real-time dashboards for billing transparency and patient engagement. Earlier this year, Inbox Health deepened its integration with Greenway Health’s EHR marketplace, giving Intergy users access to a broader suite of automated billing solutions.
With this latest funding, Inbox Health is positioning itself at the center of healthcare’s digital payment transformation—one that could have ripple effects for debt collectors, healthcare providers, and financial services firms alike as patient billing becomes more transparent, faster, and more automated.
