It is that dedication to helping others and giving training everything he has that has propelled him to a career in an industry he was never sure he was going to like. Read on to learn more about Frank, why he loves seeing Dodger blue on the road, and the person he would like to travel the world with if he had the chance.
Name: Frank Tirre
Job Title: Corporate Training Manager
Company: Cedar Financial
Length of time at current company: 8 years
Length of time in industry: 17 years
How did you get your start in the industry?
A friend who worked at an agency and referred me. He said “just try it out, if you like it, you can stay. If you don’t, just say it”. Fun fact: I just reconnected with the same guy who referred me a few weeks ago. Lost contact with him for more than 20 years.
What is your career highlight so far?
Sharpening my training gamesmanship to the level where up to 80% of new hires are hitting their first month goal. My personal career highlight would be to get 100% of a training group to hit their first month goal.
When or how are you most productive?
Most productive when my week is properly mapped out the Friday before. Coming into the week haphazardly isn’t a winning strategy.
Which industry professional do you admire most?
Frank Keith & Lori Hood Lawson from Call Simulator
What is one thing you do better than everyone else?
Getting new hires to believe in themselves before, during and after the daunting task of our training program. I also feel I am one of the best at training agents to negotiate their way to earning bonus money for their families.
What do you like most about this industry?
I like how technology has been embedded in all aspects of the business to procure responses from consumers and more importantly, resolutions to their balances.
What is one thing you wish you could change about this industry?
The stigma. Many people on social media demonize agencies and try to help consumers fight against rightly owed balances. In 2025, any balance can be resolved in one way or another with engagement from both sides. I love getting into the comments and pushing the influencers to lose their cool – or fall silent.
If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing?
Traveling the world with my daughter.
Describe a typical work day.
Arrive about 45 minutes early, get a snack and coffee/energy drink, say hello to everyone then start analyzing daily/monthly data from all the new hires in 2025. If they are on track, great! If not, devise a plan to course correct.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Going to Los Angeles Dodgers away games at rival stadiums.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
“If you only do right, you can’t go wrong.” Everyone makes mistakes. If mistakes are organically made, lets fix them!
What are you currently reading?
“Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari
What is one fact you’d like everyone in the industry to know about you?
I give training everything I have in my soul. I want all trainees to be guided correctly. I feel like day one of training is like being in a newborn nursery. I train newborns into becoming collection warriors with state-of-the-art technology and the latest negotiation tactics and strategies. The rest is up to them!
