Virginia Beach, VA — Controlytics announced its official launch as a compliance services and technology company designed to help financial institutions assess, strengthen, and continuously manage their Compliance Management Systems (CMS) in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Founded by Laura White and Hillary Varvel, Controlytics was created to address a growing gap between regulatory expectations and the practical realities faced by banks and fintechs operating under pressure to scale efficiently. As scrutiny of financial institutions intensifies, many organizations struggle to demonstrate that their compliance programs are both effective and sustainable.
“Too often, compliance is forced to choose between speed and rigor,” said White, the Chief Executive Officer. “Controlytics was built to remove that trade-off by combining experienced regulatory judgment with technology that brings clarity, consistency, and accountability to compliance programs.”
Controlytics delivers Compliance-as-a-Service through a proprietary diagnostic and monitoring platform. AI rapidly evaluates an organization’s CMS against curated regulatory controls, identifies gaps, and produces a risk-based roadmap to support remediation. Ongoing monitoring provides continuous visibility into CMS performance, supported by experienced compliance professionals who interpret results, guide corrective actions, and assist with audits, examinations, and partner due diligence. This model enables organizations to access senior-level compliance expertise without the cost and delay associated with building internal teams and systems from scratch.
Laura brings more than 20 years of experience in compliance leadership across banking, insurance, debt buying, and fintech. Her background includes senior executive and C-suite roles at organizations such as Allianz USA and PRA Group, as well as extensive advisory work with boards and executive teams focused on enterprise risk management, regulatory readiness, and examination strategy.
Throughout her career, Laura has led the design, remediation, and governance of compliance programs under active regulatory oversight, helping institutions move from reactive compliance to more mature, defensible operating models. That perspective informs Controlytics’ approach, which emphasizes expert oversight and practical execution over generic tooling. As Chief Product Officer, Hillary draws on over 15 years of experience specialized in compliance operations, process optimization, and strategic design. Throughout her career at both high-growth and established financial institutions like PRA Group and Truist Bank, she has built a reputation for transforming complex regulatory requirements into seamless, scalable operational workflows. Her expertise lies in bridging the gap between technical product development and rigorous compliance standards, ensuring that organizational growth is supported by efficient, sustainable, and exam-ready infrastructure.
Already advising credit unions, ARM organizations, and other financial institutions, the industry’s early adoption of Controlytics reflects growing demand for compliance solutions that combine regulatory credibility with operational efficiency, scaling alongside business growth rather than impeding it.
With technology developed in partnership with SingleStone Consulting, Controlytics is focused on expanding its platform capabilities, growing its network of senior compliance experts, and supporting a broader range of financial institutions across the United States.
“Compliance is no longer viewed solely as a cost center,” Varvel said. “When done well, it becomes a signal of trust for regulators, partners, and investors. Our goal is to help organizations reach that standard faster and with greater confidence.”
