The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has announced the withdrawal of a significant amount of guidance and interpretive rules relating to all areas of consumer protection, including a number related to debt collection. This includes guidance related to Regulation F and other areas of debt collection reporting. Some of the guidance that is being rescinded dates back to 2012.
