As has been pointed out on this site a number of times, the mainstream media, meaning newspapers, TV stations and news sites aimed at general consumers, have no problem bashing the collections industry. They spew out pablum fed to them by consumer advocates, which often includes facts that are so distorted or just plain wrong that it makes you shake your head.
So I thought it’d be fun to turn the tables on the mainstream media and let’s critique the job they do.

It’s a short video about avoiding student loan scams. Watch the video and comment about what you see that is bad advice. If we get enough comments and enough consensus, I’ll take this to Forbes.com and show them the error of their ways.
