Technology already exists that attempts to show consumers and collectors a comprehensive dashboard and attempts to negotiate debts to find an appropriate settlement. While it is unlikely that there will actually be robots making calls and conversing with individuals, is it so far-fetched to see a day where humans are not involved in the process of collecting debts?

SUSPENDING DRIVER’S LICENSES OVER UNPAID FINES TARGETS LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS, SUIT ALLEGES
- A group of civil rights advocates have filed suit against a Northern California Superior Court, alleging that the practice of suspending an individual’s drivers license for non-payment of court fines unfairly targets low-income individuals. The courts are not taking the individual’s ability to repay when making its determination of whether to suspend a license or not, the suit alleges. A number of local governments have come under fire for incarcerating individuals who are unable to pay their fines.
