CHOICE RECOVERY CONTINUES HELPING UNEMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS FIND JOBS
- An update on Choice Recovery, a Columbus, Ohio-based collection agency that generated a lot of headlines two years ago when it started a program that seeks to help the individuals it is collecting from find jobs if they are unemployed. To date, the program, called re[start] has helped 375 people find jobs, according to company CEO Chad Silverstein. The program has a goal of helping 10,000 people find jobs in the next decade.
MASSACHUSETTS AG, BANKING UNIT ANNOUNCE PUBLIC HEARING ON DEBT COLLECTION
- The Massachusetts Division of Banks and the Office of the Attorney General have announced a public hearing on Sept. 22, to seek “input on the current state of debt collection and debt collection regulation,” in the state. The hearing is intended to answer a number of questions, many of which seem to be centered on the ways in which collection agencies, debt buyers, and law firms are structured.
