M3 Financial Services, a collection agency that specializes in healthcare debts, has reached a tentative settlement in a class-action lawsuit alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
M3 will pay $600,000 to settle claims that it allegedly made more than 1 million calls using an autodialer without obtaining the proper consent.

The class consists of about 20,000 individuals, and represents those who received an automated call on their cell phone between May of 2011 and May of 2016.
Attorneys for the plaintiff will receive 30%, or $180,000, of the settlement.
The judge in the case has said she “feels comfortable” with the terms of the settlement and approved it yesterday.
