GROUPS WANT MEDICAL DEBTS DELETED FROM CREDIT REPORTS
- Nearly 100 national and state consumer organizations have joined together and submitted a petition to the CFPB, asking it to issue a rule and prohibit medical debts from appearing on consumers’ credit reports.
- Steps taken by the credit reporting agencies has demonstrated that medical debts are not necessary to be included in the reports, the groups argue.

CFPB FINES REMITTANCE COMPANY $950K FOR DISCLOSURE FAILURES
- Taking the low road led a company to be fined nearly $1 million by the CFPB for not making the disclosures it was required to do so when transmitting money from one place to another.
