How did you get your start in the industry?
As with many others, I didn’t plan on landing here. A friend referred me and it’s all downhill from there! I started in a client-facing support role and quickly gravitated toward implementations, process design, and problem-solving at the intersection of compliance, technology, and client experience.
What is your career highlight so far?
Starting out in the industry right after college and growing into an executive role has been my greatest career highlight. Along the way, I’ve learned to adapt, take on diverse responsibilities, and see the business from many perspectives.
When or how are you most productive?
Early mornings.
Which industry professional do you admire most?
I most admire professionals who quietly raise the bar for ethics, compliance, and consumer experience while still delivering strong results. The people who do this well tend to lead by example rather than title, and they have a lasting impact on the industry.
What is one thing you do better than everyone else?
I’m especially strong at connecting details across the business. I pay close attention to the nuances others sometimes miss, and I’m able to translate client needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical and operational teams in a way that keeps everyone aligned.
What do you like most about this industry?
The challenge. No two clients, portfolios, or situations are ever the same, and success requires constant learning and adaptation.
What is one thing you wish you could change about this industry?
I’d love to see fewer obstacles created by the sheer number of rules and regulations in the industry. At times it can feel overwhelming, and it often overshadows what really matters: respectful, productive engagement with consumers.
If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing?
Something still problem-driven and people-focused, likely consulting, project management, or operations leadership in another regulated environment.
Describe a typical work day.
A mix of client calls, internal strategy discussions, implementation planning, troubleshooting edge-case scenarios, and translating policy decisions into clear guidance for teams.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Red Bull and a good podcast or audiobook. 😀
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Be Proactive. Don’t just solve the problem in front of you, solve the problem that’s going to happen next.

I care deeply about doing things the right way, not just the fast or easy way

I’d love to see other tech-adjacent support staff share their perspective, roles like Implementation Coordinators, Project Managers, and Client Support Leaders, who work closely with technology but aren’t necessarily in IT.
